[Updated] Square POS platform down or inactive? You’re not alone

Users of the Square POS platform are facing serious difficulties as the service is currently down or down, seemingly down worldwide.

Many reports can be seen on social platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, where users expressed frustration about it.

The ongoing Square POS platform is preventing businesses that rely on the platform from being able to process card payments (credit or debit). Additionally, even the Square website is currently down.

Obviously it’s worldwide. The collapse of the square is something that should never happen. There should be an abundance of surpluses.

It’s worth noting that payment services that rely on the Square platform, like Cash App, are also currently down. Interestingly, platforms unrelated to Square, such as Venmo, are also experiencing problems.

Sadly, at the time of this writing, there has been no official word on the shutdown yet. So, business owners who depend on this platform are facing difficulties due to this situation.

The unavailability of a card payment platform is a serious problem for all businesses that rely on the Square POS platform. Thousands of potential sales will be lost if the shutdown lasts longer.

Let’s hope that there will be at least one official statement on the matter soon that sheds light on when the platform will be available again.

03:03 am (IST): The Square server status platform has indicated that their service is downgrading and they are working to resolve the issue but there is no ETA yet.

They also point out that this issue is occurring in the United States so it appears this is a nationwide outage rather than a worldwide outage.

08:57 am (IST): In addition to the aforementioned Cash App, it appears that the Apple Pay service is being shut down and appears to be related to Square platform issues as it depends on it.

01:11 pm (IST): Although the developers are currently trying to restore the service, they warn of delays in transmission. However, they also guarantee that the transfer will be received by 12:00 noon PDT on Friday (September 8).

Due to ongoing disruptions affecting many Square Services, we expect some transfer delays on Friday, September 8.

03:49 pm (IST): According to Square’s most recent status update, a fix has been applied and the company is monitoring the situation as services continue to gradually recover.

Our engineering team is continuing to monitor the results of the deployed fix, and Square services are continuing to recover.

This means that recent issues with platforms like Apple Pay and Cash App will finally be resolved. But it could also be some People may continue to experience issues until service is fully restored.
