What to expect from Apple Watch at next week’s ‘Wonderlust’ event

Ready to meet all the new Apple products? Apple will announce its next generation of mobile products next week great event. We will know all about the new one iPhone 15 ABOVE September 12nd. We’ll also learn more about its companion accessory, the Apple Watch, which is still available the best selling smart watch among the majority of mobile device users.

What’s in store for wearables this year? According to some reports from the most reliable Apple leaker, Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, we will meet the Apple Watch Series 9 and the second generation Apple Watch Ultra at this year’s iPhone event. However, one model that needs special attention is the Ultra, which is expected to have a significant design iteration compared to the first generation. We may also be looking at sensor improvements on both watches. If you’ve been waiting to upgrade, this year could be it.

What to expect from Apple Watch Series 9

Apple may introduce the 9th generation Apple Watch at its event great event. The company has had an annual update schedule since launching the Watch Series 3 in 2017. We expect the Series 9 to be priced similarly to its predecessors, starting at $400.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is not as viral as the iPhone 15 but there are still rumors. Specifically, this year’s successor will be a slight upgrade over the Series 8. There are no plans for any design changes for the Apple Watch—why fix what’s not broken? Expect more than one internal upgrades with the most important upgrades coming soon 2024.

Series 9 could be the debut of Apple’s S9 chip, which is said to be the first major chip innovation since 2020 Line 6. Only one rumor that the Series 9 will be heavily inspired by its iPhone equivalent, the Bionic A15 processor. But all that could mean is that this particular S9 chip model will be more efficient than its predecessors..

That new S9 processor could enable some of the Apple Watch Series 9’s improved sensors. In particular, there could be a new optical heart rate sensor that helps more accurately track—what else?—speed how fast your heart beats during exercise or stressful situations. That processor could also be what helps get items off the ground when they appear WatchOS 10.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 is more interesting

The Watch Ultra has been Apple’s much-hyped wearable since its launch last year. The screen size of the second generation Ultra may increase to 2.1 inches from 1.9 inches thanks to thinner bezels—that’s what Samsung just did with Galaxy Watch 6and even a little extra screen improved the overall user experience.

Don’t expect microLED display on Apple Watch: according to Korean production sources, that’s at least two more generations. However, the next-generation Apple Watch Ultra will be lighter than its predecessor and have an Action button on the side.

We still don’t know if the Apple Watch will have 5G connectivity. Smartwatches on both the Apple and Android ecosystems still rely on 4G/LTE connectivity because it consumes less battery and the wearable device is often an accessory to the phone. But we do know that Apple is adding ultra-wideband connectivity across its entire mobile product line. In particular, the Apple Watch Ultra’s U2 chip will likely support more accurate location data for the Find My application.

Are there any new sizes for Apple Watch?

Maybe no. Bloomberg tells us that the Series 9 will continue to come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, with the Ultra remaining the largest smartwatch at 49mm. To be more environmentally friendly, we can also see Apple come up with one 3D printed case for Series 9.

Will there be an Apple Watch SE?

Sure is not. Apple Watch SE is not updated every year. So far, we’ve had a new update every year. And since last year’s SE has been reintroduced, we shouldn’t expect anything new until at least 2024.
